This role will assist the Supervisor in directing workflow and will serve as a communication link between the Supervisor and Warehouse Associates.

Essential Functions:

1. Promote a safe work environment through personal actions. Identify any safety concerns, as well as cost saving opportunities.
2. Review schedule with supervisor at beginning of shift and discuss daily plan and objectives.
3. Assist supervisor in coordinating workflow. Recommend work assignments.
4. Advise supervisor of any problems that occur during shift.
5. Assist in training new associates, directing workflow, ensuring on-time completion, and following procedures.
6. Load and unload trucks and railcars. Move product onto pallet in correct position.
7. Scan product and move to loading area. Check for accuracy and placement.
8. Direct product to correct area in warehouse.
9. Pack product using shrink wrap. Attach correct labels to product.
10. Move product safely using forklift, pallet jack or dock loader. Follow operating instructions.
11. Report faulty equipment, damage to racks, and other safety hazards to supervisor. Ensure that warehouse workers follow safety rules.
12. Assist in coordinating drills and emergency evacuation procedures.
13. Maintain clean and sanitary dock. Remove debris and sweep dock as needed.
14. Make sure trailers are clean for shipping. Report violations to supervisor.
15. Store brooms, shovels, and other equipment properly at the end of the shift.
16. Inventory product as needed. Label, sort, wrap and tie product.
17. Other duties as requested.

Required Experience:

•    2 years work experience in warehouse or similar environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
•    Ability to become AmeriCold Logistics forklift certified
•    Familiar with WMS and RF
•    Strong teamwork skills
•    Knowledge of company safety rules and general procedures
•    Ability to read numbers and labels
•    Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
•    Ability to add, subtract and multiply.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the associate is frequently required to sit; hear or talk: use close vision; use hands to grasp, handle or feel objects: and type and manipulate controls. Associate is occasionally required to use distance vision, stand, kneel or crouch and lift up to 80 lbs.
